VaultLink: one portfolio across crypto wallets, and the two screens where trust is decided
People who hold crypto often keep it in several wallets, on several blockchains. Knowing what they own means opening one app per wallet. VaultLink is my concept study of a mobile app that gathers all of it in one portfolio. Most of the design work went into the two moments where people decide whether to trust an app with their money: connecting a wallet, and granting it permissions.
- 2permissions asked, one line each
- 3ways to connect a wallet, the ones people already use
- 3questions to set up the feed
01
Trust is decided when the wallet connects
The first screen offers three ways to connect a wallet, the ones people already use: Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect and MetaMask. With a Coinbase smart wallet, signing in takes a passkey, so there is no recovery phrase to copy out. VaultLink then asks for two permissions, one line each: see the balances and activity, and send transaction requests. Cancel sits right next to Continue.

02
Three questions before the feed
Before the dashboard, three questions: which kinds of apps interest the person, what kind of investor they are, and how often they check their wallet. The answers set the For You feed, so an active trader and someone who looks once a week do not see the same thing. The first question can wait for later.

What interests them, what kind of investor they are, how often they look.

The portfolio, read at a glance
The total comes first, in large type, with the wallet address and a button to copy it. On the profile, assets are grouped by what they do rather than by the blockchain that holds them: in the wallet, in liquidity pools, in deposits, staked, in yield farming, and as NFTs. The feed ranks apps and tokens, each with its price, its volume and its latest trades.
